📋 Step-by-Step Guide (6 Steps)
Excavate the Wall Threshold
Break a single 1x1 block cutout along the bottom edge of your base exterior wall where the dog door will sit. Dig out the single floor block directly beneath the opening and replace it with Polished Andesite Stairs facing inverted to act as an entry sill. Clear a 2x2 workspace behind and beneath this wall slice for redstone access.
- • A clean 1x1 gap exists in the wall with an inverted stair block resting flush at floor level.
- • Sub-floor void is clear of obstruction.
- • Placing the stair right-side up, which leaves an uneven step gap that halts mob pathfinding.
Drop and Align the Flap Stand
Place a temporary block two layers below the door sill and position an Armor Stand directly centered facing outward. Equip the stand with a leather cap dyed to match your desired rubber or leather dog flap color. Shift-click to adjust the armor stand pose to straight upright if playing on versions supporting pose states.
