How to Install or Swap a PC Motherboard

Disconnect Power and External Cables
Switch off the power supply unit (PSU) and remove the power cable from the wall. Disconnect all external peripherals, including monitors, keyboards, mice, and audio cables. Press and hold the PC case power button for 10 seconds to discharge remaining electrical capacitance.

Remove Graphics Card and Internal Cables
Unplug the 24-pin ATX power connector, 8-pin CPU power cable, SATA cables, fan headers, and front-panel connectors. Unscrew the GPU PCIe bracket screws from the case rear, press down the PCIe slot retention latch, and pull the graphics card straight out. Place the graphics card on a non-conductive surface.

Unscrew and Remove Old Motherboard

Configure Standoffs and Install I/O Shield
Compare the new motherboard's mounting hole pattern against the standoff configuration in the case. If your new board lacks an integrated I/O shield, snap the provided metal I/O plate into the rear chassis cutout until all four corners click.

Place the new motherboard flat on its cardboard retail packaging. Install the CPU into the socket, close the load lever, install M.2 NVMe drives into their slots with heatsinks secured, and press RAM sticks into their designated dual-channel slots until both side latches click shut.
