How to Install and Set Up Google Wifi
Set up and configure a Google Wifi mesh router system, connecting hardware to your modem and optimizing whole-home wireless coverage via the app.

📋 Step-by-Step Guide (6 Steps)
Unbox and Stage Equipment Near Modem
Place your primary Google Wifi point, its power adapter, and the Ethernet cable on an open, flat surface next to your existing internet modem. Ensure your modem is currently powered on and connected to your internet service provider line.

Connect Ethernet Cable to Modem and Wifi Point
Plug one end of the Ethernet cable into the LAN port of your modem. Plug the other end into the port marked with a globe icon (WAN port) on the underside of your Google Wifi point.

Connect Power and Await Indicator Light
Insert the USB-C power cable into the power jack on the bottom of the Google Wifi point and plug the brick into a wall outlet. Watch the LED status light on the front band until it slowly pulses blue, indicating readiness for setup.

Open Google Home App and Scan QR Code
Open the Google Home app on your mobile device with Bluetooth enabled, tap the plus icon to add a device, and select 'Set up device'. When prompted, point your phone camera at the QR code printed on the bottom base of the Google Wifi unit.

Configure Network Name and Password
Follow the on-screen prompts to assign the device to a room (e.g., Living Room), then create a new Wi-Fi network name (SSID) and a strong password. Tap 'Next' to allow the app to provision the router and establish cloud connection.

Deploy and Pair Additional Mesh Points (Optional)
If you have additional points, place them no more than two rooms (roughly 30 feet) away from the primary unit and plug them into power. Select 'Yes' in the app when prompted to add another point, scan its QR code, and run the built-in mesh test to confirm signal strength.
