📋 Step-by-Step Guide (5 Steps)
Power Down and Remove Case Panels
Shut down the computer completely, unplug the AC power cable from the back of the power supply, and press the power button once to drain residual motherboard power. Remove the thumbscrews from the side panel and lift the panel off to expose the interior chassis. Lay the case flat on a stable, non-carpeted surface.

Determine Airflow Direction and Mounting Location
Check the fan frame for two small embossed arrows indicating rotation and airflow direction. If no arrows are visible, remember that air enters the open blade face and exits out the side with the plastic support struts and motor sticker. Decide whether this fan acts as an intake (pulling cool air in from front/bottom) or exhaust (pushing hot air out from rear/top).

Mount the Fan with Screws in an X-Pattern
Hold the fan firmly against the inner mounting bracket of the chassis and align the four corner holes with the case slots. Insert a short, coarse fan screw through the outside of the case into one corner hole and turn it clockwise with a Phillips #2 screwdriver until snug. Install the remaining three screws in a diagonal cross (X) pattern to ensure even seating.

Route and Connect the Power Cable

Align the plastic groove on the fan plug with the plastic tab on the motherboard header, then press firmly straight down until fully seated.

Power on the PC and confirm the new fan spins up smoothly, lights up (if RGB-equipped), and moves air in the intended direction.
