📋 Step-by-Step Guide (6 Steps)
Disassemble the Controller Housing
Use a plastic pry tool along the outer shell seams to release the snap tabs on the grips. Locate and remove all housing screws using the matching precision Torx or Phillips bit, including hidden screws behind battery bay stickers.

Remove Thumbstick Cap and Expose Module
Disconnect the battery harness clip from the main board. Pull the plastic thumbstick cap directly upward away from the metal analog box shaft to expose the potentiometer sensors.

Pry Open Potentiometer Sensor Housing
Identify the vertical green or orange plastic sensor housing attached to the side of the metal joystick module. Insert a pry tool or tweezer tip into the top latch and gently pry it outward about 30 to 45 degrees without breaking the bottom solder joints.

Extract and Clean Wiper Disc and Carbon Track
Use tweezers to carefully lift the tiny circular metal wiper disc out from inside the housing flap. Dip a cotton swab in 99% isopropyl alcohol and thoroughly swab both the inner carbon ring on the board and the tiny metal prongs on the wiper disc, then blast with compressed air.
