โš ๏ธ Safety Checkpoints & Warnings

๐Ÿ“‹ Step-by-Step Guide (5 Steps)

1

Select and Clear the Cliff Face

Locate a flat 4x4 section of natural stone cliff. Excavate a 2-block wide by 2-block high doorway extending 4 blocks deep into the rock wall. Clear out extra workspace 3 blocks to the left, right, and above the opening.

๐Ÿ‘๏ธ Camera AI Checkpoint
  • โ€ข A 2x2 entrance corridor carved into the cliff face.
  • โ€ข A widened cavern behind the facade giving clear access to side walls.
๐Ÿ›‘ Watch Out For
  • โ€ข Digging into gravel or sand that collapses into the workspace.
  • โ€ข Choosing a terrain wall that is not flush and reveals internal mechanisms.
โš ๏ธ Safety Note: Place a torch immediately inside the cutout to prevent creepers from spawning while you dig.
2

Place the Sticky Piston Mechanism

Inside the excavated space, place a 2x2 block of sticky pistons facing inward toward the hallway on both the left and right sides. Place another column of two sticky pistons directly behind them facing toward the entrance to create a standard Jeb door layout. Attach stone blocks matching the cliff to the front-facing piston heads.

๐Ÿ‘๏ธ Camera AI Checkpoint
  • โ€ข Four sticky pistons facing forward with camouflage stone blocks attached.
  • โ€ข Side-retraction pistons positioned perpendicular directly behind them.
๐Ÿ›‘ Watch Out For
  • โ€ข Using regular pistons instead of sticky pistons.
  • โ€ข Placing pistons facing the wrong cardinal direction.
โš ๏ธ Safety Note: Watch your footing around vertical drops while building upper piston tiers.
3

Wire the Top Redstone Circuit

Place a solid roof layer directly above the pistons. Run redstone dust along the outer edges connecting both piston sets. Place two redstone repeaters over the middle pistons on each side, setting both repeaters to 2 ticks of delay (one right-click each).

๐Ÿ‘๏ธ Camera AI Checkpoint
  • โ€ข Continuous redstone dust trail linking left and right piston assemblies across the ceiling.
  • โ€ข Two repeaters visible with torches spaced one notch apart showing 2-tick delay.
๐Ÿ›‘ Watch Out For
  • โ€ข Leaving repeaters on 1 tick (default), causing the block-grab mechanism to desync.
  • โ€ข Cutting off redstone line with non-transparent blocks above wiring steps.
โš ๏ธ Safety Note: Avoid standing on active redstone lines while testing to prevent piston suffocation.
4

Install Concealed Input Trigger

Run a redstone dust line from the top circuit down through the side wall to an exterior trigger location. Place a stone button or concealed lever on a natural stone block, or tuck it behind a tree or patch of tall grass beside the entrance.

๐Ÿ‘๏ธ Camera AI Checkpoint
  • โ€ข Redstone dust line glowing bright red when trigger is activated.
  • โ€ข Trigger blend naturally into the terrain without obvious unnatural framing.
๐Ÿ›‘ Watch Out For
  • โ€ข Placing an obvious oak lever directly in the center of a stone wall.
  • โ€ข Running the redstone signal farther than 15 blocks without a repeater amplifier.
โš ๏ธ Safety Note: Verify that your input wire is completely sealed to prevent accidental water washed-out lines.
5

Test, Seal, and Conceal Interior

Activate the input switch to test opening and closing cycles. Ensure the exterior wall is completely flat and indistinguishable from the cliff when closed. Excavate your main underground living space behind the doorway and place torches along interior paths.

๐Ÿ‘๏ธ Camera AI Checkpoint
  • โ€ข Exterior wall forms an uninterrupted, flush stone surface when door is closed.
  • โ€ข Door cleanly opens a 2x2 passageway when the input switch is triggered.
๐Ÿ›‘ Watch Out For
  • โ€ข Leaving visible redstone dust exposed on the outside cliff face.
  • โ€ข Forgetting to install an exit switch inside the base.
โš ๏ธ Safety Note: Install an interior iron door or panic button to secure the inner bunker from mobs following you in.
