โ ๏ธ Safety Checkpoints & Warnings
- โข Place water buckets or slime blocks at the base while building in Survival mode to prevent lethal fall damage from high scaffolding.
- โข Ensure adequate interior lighting to keep hostile mobs from spawning inside the hollow Ghast head structure.
๐ Step-by-Step Guide (6 Steps)
Establish the Raised Footprint
Build four 1x1 pillar supports out of white concrete spaced 8 blocks apart to elevate the main body 4 blocks off the ground. Connect the tops of these pillars with a flat 10x10 hollow square frame of White Concrete. This forms the elevated underbelly where the tentacles will hang.
- โข A 10x10 square white frame elevated 4 blocks off the grass floor
- โข Clear open space underneath the square frame for tentacle placement
- โข Making the frame rectangular instead of a precise 10x10 square
- โข Building directly on the ground without leaving vertical clearance for tentacles
Erect the Hollow Cubic Walls and Roof
Raise the 10x10 white concrete frame vertically by 9 more blocks to create a 10x10x10 hollow cube. Cap the top with a solid layer of White Concrete blocks to enclose the head. Leave temporary 2-block gaps on the side walls for scaffold access.
- โข A uniform 10x10x10 hollow white cube standing above ground level
- โข A solid, flat white concrete roof capping the entire structure
- โข Building solid interior walls instead of a hollow box
- โข Misaligning vertical wall layers causing crooked edges
Sculpt the Happy Face and Blush
On the front facade, knock out blocks to install the happy face. Place two horizontal lines of 2-block wide Black Concrete for cute squinting closed eyes, positioned 4 blocks down from the top edge. Place 2x1 Pink Concrete patches directly beneath and slightly outside each eye for blushing cheeks, and a small 2-block wide mouth below.
- โข Symmetrical happy/squinted black eyes positioned evenly on the front face
- โข Distinct pink 2x1 blush rectangles beneath each eye
- โข Placing eyes asymmetrically off-center
- โข Using regular red instead of soft pink for the blushing cheeks
Construct Hanging Tentacles
Descend below the Ghast body and build 9 hanging tentacles of varying lengths between 3 and 6 blocks using White Concrete and Smooth Quartz Stairs. Place tentacles at the corners, edge centers, and one in the middle, leaving a hollow 2x2 tentacle in the center for a ladder or water elevator entrance.
- โข 9 distinct column tentacles hanging unevenly beneath the body
- โข Stair blocks integrated at tentacle tips to create tapered ends
- โข Making all tentacles identical in length, making the build look rigid
- โข Blocking off the central access shaft to the house entrance
Install Internal Floors and Windows
Enter through the hollow center tentacle and lay an Oak Plank floor across the bottom level. Build a second-story floor 4 blocks up using Oak Planks, leaving a 2x2 hole for ladder access. Replace selected 1x2 white blocks on the side and back walls with White Stained Glass to create panoramic viewing windows.
- โข Two distinct finished wooden interior floors connected by a ladder shaft
- โข Seamless white stained glass panels embedded into side walls
- โข Placing windows through the front face, destroying the happy facial features
- โข Building floors with only 2 blocks of vertical head clearance
Furnish Interior and Light the Build
Hang lanterns from the ceiling on both floors to maintain light levels above 7. On the lower floor, install crafting tables, furnaces, and double chests along the interior perimeter. Place a cozy bed, bookshelves, and potted flowers on the upper loft floor.
- โข Warm lantern glow illuminating both floor levels without dark corners
- โข Fully equipped crafting, storage, and bedroom spaces organized along the walls
- โข Leaving dark corner blocks where hostile mobs can spawn
- โข Overcrowding the center floor, blocking movement between floors
