๐ Step-by-Step Guide (5 Steps)
Clear the Lot and Erect Corner Pillars
Clear a flat 9x9 area with your shovel and pickaxe. Place four vertical oak log pillars, each 4 blocks high, arranged at the corners of a 7x7 square grid leaving a 5-block gap between each pillar.
- โข Four vertical 4-block-tall bark-faced logs forming a symmetrical 7x7 square perimeter
- โข A cleared, flat dirt platform within and around the pillar footprint
- โข Placing logs horizontally instead of vertically facing upward
- โข Miscounting the spacing, making the house asymmetrical
Lay Cobblestone Base and Floor
Dig out the dirt within the interior 5x5 grid down one block and fill it completely with oak planks. Connect the bottom of the corner log pillars with a single layer of cobblestone blocks along the perimeter.
- โข Seamless wooden plank floor inside the perimeter
- โข A continuous cobblestone foundation ring connecting the four corner logs
- โข Leaving grass/dirt patches underneath the floor
- โข Blocking the planned doorway with solid cobblestone
Frame Walls and Window Openings
Build up the walls using oak planks between the log pillars to a height of 3 blocks above the foundation. Leave a 2x1 opening in the center front for the door, and 2x1 horizontal openings in the sides for windows.
- โข 3-block-high plank walls flush with the foundation
- โข Evenly spaced 1x2 or 2x1 hollow frames centered on the side and front walls
- โข Building solid walls without reserving window slots
- โข Making walls taller than the 4-block corner log posts
Construct the Pitched Stair Roof
Place oak stairs facing inward along the front and rear upper wall rims, extending one block outward past the logs as an overhang. Continue layering stairs upward in ascending tiers until the two slopes meet in a centered ridge at the peak.
- โข A triangular A-frame roofline with consistent 1-block overhangs on the eaves
- โข A solid horizontal ridge along the top center of the roof structure
- โข Placing stairs upside-down by clicking the top half of adjacent blocks
- โข Missing the side overhangs, giving the roof a flat, unnatural appearance
Install Doors, Windows, and Interior Essentials
Fit glass panes into the wall gaps and place a wooden door from the outside facing inward for recessed depth. Inside, place a bed against the back wall, a crafting table, double chest, furnace, and wall torches for full functionality.
- โข Transparent glass panes sealing all window openings
- โข Fully equipped interior with red/white bed, crafting table, double chest, and furnace
- โข Lighted interior with zero dark shadow corners
- โข Placing the door from the interior side, which removes decorative depth from the facade
- โข Leaving ceiling corners unlit

Don’t have everything?
- No Glass Panes? Oak Fence Blocks (for rustic open-air windows)
- No Oak Logs? Spruce or Birch Logs (matching wood variants)
